3-day discussions ends in Vienna, disputes remain

The first round of talks on pushing forward the final Iran nuclear deal ended its three days of discussions in Vienna on Friday, but disputes between the United States and Iran remain unsolved.

At the top of the agenda for the talks was the timing of sanctions relief, but the US and Iran continue to hold different or even opposite opinions on the procedures for sanctions relief.

On April 2, Iran and P5+1 countries, namely the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany, reached a framework deal in which Iran agreed to reduce its nuclear program, and in return, the P5+1 agreed to lift certain sanctions imposed on Tehran. Iran and P5+1 have set June 30 as the deadline for a final deal.
